Galactic Center
Today we'll address the Galactic Center, 26-28d Sagittarius, since little is known or written about this unique part of the sky where Pluto is now traveling.
The Galactic Center is the birth place of stars, of life, fire within the air, the fire, which fires of fusion and fission, dancing, birthing the galaxy where we live amongst the billions of other galaxies in the universe.
Pluto, and all the planets beyond Saturn, rule those things which cannot be seen with the naked eye since Saturn is the last planet with which we can see with the naked eye. So, its place in horary astrology would be to govern those events which happen beneath the surface. Pluto was discovered at the time of the atom bomb, and it rules those things which also cannot be seen on the physical level with the naked eye, such as an atom. Underestimating Pluto's power is not wise though, just because one cannot see an atom explode, once it does explode one can certainly see it's destruction. Great care must be taken when we harness the energies of Pluto, whether they are nuclear, or genetic mutations, interestingly also caused by nuclear ... certainly no accident.
Pluto also rules such things as DNA and its components, the double helix, transformational energies of spirituality, the seed of Love, and the coming together of twin flames. Kundalini fires are also ruled by Pluto and awakening these energies must be done with care, gently, slowly. Powering up the kundalini too fast can be as destructive to the individual as powering up the atom too fast, kundalini fall out abounds and I won't name the possible effects so as not to create it but, it is wise to have a Teacher, one who has no ego, who does not believe they are somehow greater than other humans, specially ordained, etc. Humility is the mark of a real Teacher. Not false humility, real humility.
Pluto and Scorpio both rule the learning and the lessons of power. Interestingly, the revolutions of the French and the Americans (as well as other places in the world) took place with Pluto in Capricorn, which is the transformation of institutions, governments, ruling classes, to which Pluto moving in its transit. Pluto will arrive in Capricorn in 2008, with a retrograde dodge back into Sagittarius and then a long travel in Cap. We will not see Pluto return to its place at the Galacitc Center -- GC -- during our lifetimes unless we are planning to stay here for over two centuries as Pluto's travel through its orbit is very long (as well as elliptical, it sometimes travels inside the orb of Neptune).
Pluto also rules transformation and the ability to use power. People who have prominent planets placed at the Galactic Center, GC, are those who are on some level responsible to a larger vision, one which encompasses the planet rather than just themselves or their immediate city/state/country, but with humanity. These people can be concerned with the use of nuclear power and its aftermath, such as Chernobyl. They are also able to penetrate deeply into matters both on a psychic level, and on a spiritual level. These individuals are also here to transform spiritually through to their very essence. People with the Sun, Moon, Ascendant here have global contracts, and feel a calling to something larger than themselves.
When meditating, these people, quickly, are able to arrive at a place to harness and draw in the light from this place, seeing it clearly, and breathing in light, and breathing out love. Because Pluto is now traveling here, it is a very important time for meditation. We are able to pull the light all the way through from the Central Sun.
Because the GC is so huge and vast, these people are drawn to projects with larger visions, visions beyond the immediate and encompassing a more global or universal vision focusing on the greater good of the many rather than the good of the one or the few.
They also have more energy to harness and direct than the average person, often leaving most people wondering where they find their immense drive and ability to continue long after others have gone to sleep.
This is a karmic placement, one which is earned through many lifetimes dedicated to spiritual growth, ethics, morals, complete integrity, and honesty.
Here's to the knowing that with our Solar System moving inside Aquarius that everyone on the planet begins to understand the responsibility of noblesse oblige, which means that those of us who have, have two eyes, two arms, two legs, are responsible and courageous enough to take care of those less fortunate. This includes babies, small children, the lady across the street who may not have a car, or the man who needs dinner because he was laid off in the last round of "re-engineering," which provided a few cents a share of earnings, and which stole his livelihood to greed.
To the women who care for children, that you are strong enough, and wise enough to care for your children first, and yourselves second. To the men getting a divorce, that you are honorable and leave your wives well off after devoting their lives to you, and that you don't leave them starving and homeless as so very many women now are.
As Mother Teresa said, "don't worry about those halfway around the world. Take care of your families, the guy across the street, the friend you meet on the internet, your loved ones." By our responsibility to the immediate we serve the greater good.
