As an astrologer, it is impossible to write about cycles of time involving thousands of years without addressing issues such as: freedom, love, power, greed, wars, human evolution. As a human being, I believe evil thrives when good men do and say nothing. As the granddaughter of two men shot by the Nazis, sensitization to power abuses exists. Finally, Europeans believe that discussing politics and being aware of the world is a mark of intelligence, and I was raised by Europeans. American forebears, the writers of the Constitution were keenly aware of the politics of their day and didn't hesitate to write about it.
It behooves us to discuss, develop dialogue and be extremely conscious of our choices as they will define our future. Finally, as a native Washingtonian, we have access to information simply because we went to school with people who have knowledge, we'd be unintelligent not to avail ourselves of knowledge.
Ergo, this material contains some politics as will any articles containing the outer planets as their cycles span sometimes centuries and politics marks the changes they leave upon us. I apologize in advance if this offends you, it offends me when people know nothing of other countries' leaders. It more than offends me, it scares me, those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it.

Hi All!
Thank you my many dear
friends, ami, amigos, compadres, so many emails I received on the
Mercury retrograde from around the world, from France to Portugal, from
England to Australia, India to the US, I was really overwhelmed with
the response from professionals, to friends, to those of you who I may
not know very well yet, I look forward to getting to know you better ;-)!
Each and every New Moon has a small window wherein there is a
Cazimi aspect formed by the Sun and Moon. Cazimi is a rare aspect
sometimes found in natal charts. People who have Cazimis in their natal
charts are often powerful intuitives and
bring in new ideas, new modalities whether or not they're aware of the
fact that they're "Cazimi" chart people. I'll give you an example. I
was asked to help market a symphony which we were holding at the
Corcoran Art Gallery in DC. At the party itself, before the symphony
began, I noticed that the Chairman knew where every single person in
the room was at all times. The Chairman, H. David, has a Moon inside
his
Sun, which is "Cazimi" and he is clairsentient. H. David is a business man, he invented one of our plastic credit
cards many years ago, as an attorney with a large bank, and retired and
financed both the symphony and music lessons to inner city children. One day when I dropped by his house with
some sushi I said, "H. David, did you know that you're aware of every
single person in the room?"
He said, "sure, absolutely I can "feel" them."
"Did you know you have a Cazimi Moon in your chart and you're clairsentient?"
He
said, "no on the cazimi but yes on feeling everyone in the room." I was shocked that
a business man would know and acknowledge he was clairsentient although
he didn't give it the clairsentience terminology. So, the Cazimi aspect is a planet
that is 17 minutes from either side of the Sun -- NOT 17 degrees -- 17
minutes. For the New Moon each month it is when the Moon moves into
the "Heart" of the Sun.
Why
is this important? Because during the 15 minutes (of a clock) before
and after the exact time of the New Moon, which in this case is at 2:42
p.m. EDT, on the 18th of
September, one can "seed" one's intent, into Divine's Energetic Field, for the coming 28 days. An hour
before and after or any other time for the next few days after and
before the Moon is "combust." Combust is an aspect that a planet which
is too close to the Sun makes which weakens the planet. Cazimi is the
aspect which describes a planet inside the "Heart of the Sun" and it's enormously
powerful. Before and after this aspect the Moon is Combust, any planet
within seven degrees of the Sun which is not Cazimi is combust and
therefore weak, meaning the Sun overpowers the energies of that
planet. So, for the rest of the day the Moon will be weak.
So, during meditation you can "seed" your intent for the coming 28
days by using the Cazimi with your New Moon meditation. This is an ancient Kabbalistic rite, in days past this information was kept secret
and given only to initiates. Now the world at large is initiating into
Mastery, so, the information is all being given to everyone. During
this meditation visualize the Sun in your heart. The Sun represents
your consciousness. Then visualize the Moon which represents your sub-
and unconscious, coming across the Sun in your heart and empowering
your Moon with the energies of the Sun. Visually from Earth they
appear to be the same size and this is how one does this meditation.
This is an extremely powerful meditation which used to be given by
gurus in caves in India, and Monks in Tibet, to aspirants.
Now that we have covered the mechanics, let's discuss the meaning
of a New Moon in Virgo. Virgo, in general, is about purity, pure
intent, service to others, and healing. Now that Chiron, Virgo's Ruler, has been
discovered, the Healing Arts can fully develop and the simply
allopathic model is insufficient. Chiron, from Kheir, (Greek for
hands) brought the Seven Healing Arts to Earth: Chirology (healing
light from hands); chiromancy, chiropractic, chiurgery (Greek for
surgery); astrology, accupuncture, and the intuitive paths:
clairsentience, clairvoyance, clairaudience -- what the Tibetans refer
to as siddhis, or the minor talents.
In spiritual development one develops the minor talents first and
later the chirology develops usually years later. There are a number
of myths about "Healers," floating about nowadays and in order to keep
the Art pure and of the highest integrity we'll debunk some of these
myths.
Myth 1: Healers can pick up diseases from clients. This is
impossible for a true healer. Healers have developed high vibrations
within their auras and chakras through daily meditation and training.
Although a healer can stop meditating and the vibrations can lower,
much like an athlete stops training and the muscles soften, a healer
practicing his discipline(s) daily keeps the vibrations high and low
(dis-ease) vibrations cannot enter nor even get up to higher
vibrations. Rather like light can penetrate darkness but darkness
cannot penetrate light.
Myth 2: Healers wear out. Sure, if they're operating from ego.
This kind of healing is very short-lived. A true healer gets his ego
and her/himself out of the way and asks Divine to channel through
them. Then the healing is energizing not exhausting.
Myth 3: Everyone can heal. Sure, eventually everyone can heal
just like in some lifetime everyone can be a Mozart or an Einstein but
real healing is a talent which is developed over lifetimes and not an
instantaneous today I meditate and tomorrow I heal. There's a codicile here: each and every person on the planet is seeded with Divine, each and everyone of us has Divine within us and our bodies natural intelligence will lead us to optimal health. So, we are all naturally gifted "self-healers." Making the lame walk and the blind see is a more complicated matter and those who have this ability generally don't use it because whatever energy in their lives which caused the condition will remanifest unless addressed at its roots.
We may have an experience of healing another, again one experience does not a Healer make. Although to strive for this is healthy, and the daily discipline of morning and evening meditations is essential, just as it is essential for an athlete to work out. Like being a runner, some are simply more gifted than others, although everyone can run, most are not gifted Olympic athletes. The experience shows us that those who are gifted in one arena, such as a Sri Aurobindo, are naturally gifted in multiple arenas.
Now some facts: Healers' hands get hot. This can happen through
years of meditation, through Tai Chi, through Chi Kong, and through
other practices. There are chakras in the hands, these chakras tingle
and get hot. When a healer sends light it can be done instantly
distance does not matter (for advanced souls even time does not matter
but this is a complicated explanation we're skipping today). The
person receiving the healing will often get tired and need to sleep
afterwards. For healers, pink light is always safe to send. White
light is reserved for people who are already awakened and whose health
is already fairly good. The light is intelligent, the Healer does not
need to "direct" the light, the light itself knows what to do, where to
go.
Like all things in life: Caveat Emptor (Latin: Let the buyer beware) Taking a course in biology doesn't make one a physician, just as taking a course in Reiki doesn't make one a healer, nor running a race make one an Olympic athlete.
Now
onto the Saturn-Uranus opposition which accompanies this. Saturn is conjunct the Sun-Moon Cazimi and Opposite Uranus in Pisces. There is so
much to write on this aspect we can barely graze the surface. The last
time we experienced the Saturn-Uranus oppositions of which there are
generally five over a period of a few years, was in the 60s and we had
the peace demonstrations, back then they were "anti-war," and it seems
that most of the then hippies, who became yuppies, and are now getting
older and wiser, have learned that energy flows where attention goes.
So, rather than be "anti" war, drugs, crime, we're much better grounded
in our foundations if we're "pro" peace, health, prosperity, etc. As
we move into this time, we now have the Peace One Day and International
Day of Peace which was originally initiated by Ambassador John McDonald
on the third Tuesday of September and later Jeremy Gilley brought
forward to the United Nations the Resolution that this day be the 21st
of September rather than a "floating day."
Many people in many countries are now planning events for this day
and working to increase awareness and the possibilities for active
peace. For example, Jeremy brought medicines to children in Southern
Afghanistan where the troops of both sides agreed to honor the Red
Cross mission and stop fighting for the first time in decades. People
generally don't want war, people are most often coerced by leaders
whose greed for power and money overtake them and then people's blood
is shed. I would like to write, "innocent," but the killing of another
is not an "innocent" crime. Taking a life is very serious, and if all
people in the world refused to fight then the leaders would have no
choice but to lay down their arms.
When people lead, which they do, the leaders must follow. It is
our responsibility to be completely self-aware and self-responsible.
Blame, shame, those games are boring, tedious games of the past. We've
all engaged in them, and we all are encouraging ourselves and others to
let go of those games and move into our own greater awareness, greater
consciousness, and move into the miracle of healing ... read Marianne Williamson's brilliant works for more on this.
Saturn is in Virgo encouraging building the foundations of purity,
healing, service, and Uranus, which is beyond Saturn, therefore has
more strength and in this case, the Piscean values of merging into the
Ocean of Love will be stronger than the boundaries that Saturn attempts
to lay down. See the previous article on Mercury Retrograde for an
explanation of how planets' energies work when aspecting each other.
Uranus in Pisces brings our unconscious and subconscious to the
surface in dreams, meditation, or if we stay unconscious in blame,
shame, anger, unacknowledged fears. The last transit of Uranus in
Pisces saw the birth of the Third Reich, Hitler used the fears of the
German people to gain power, and we ourselves have seen fear used
politically recently by a leader to coerce nations to war and spend
trillions on arms bombing a country, Iraq, which was already plagued by
epidemic proportions of cancer (thanks to the First Gulf War in the
80s); a nation already on the brink of starvation due to economic
sanctions; even if one believed war was proper, which given the lack of
evidence for WMD it wasn't, it certainly didn't require much might.
Now we are suffering a national tragedy of economic despair where over
50% of single mothers are living below the poverty line. This truly is
a national tragedy of epic proportions from which recovery will be
exceedingly difficult. How can we possibly educate the next generation
when they don't even have enough food in their bellies to grow, play, explore, let
alone study?
Of course, recovery funds don't exist because companies like
Haliburton, Lockheed, Raytheon, have absconded with the money and
following Dick Cheney's lead have off-shored their ill-gotten blood
money in the banks of -- get this -- the Middle East -- in tax havens
like Dubai. The irony would be comical if it were not so phenomenally
tragic. Now, I must confess in editing this, I recognize that I must be conscious of the fact that we need awareness not blame, forgiveness and healing, restructuring of our economic priorities. Do we need a trillion dollar defense fund when we need education and health? A Nation is judged not by how its wealthy live but by how we treat our poor, lame, and suffering individuals.
The opposite of fear is love. As Uranus moves through Pisces, it is our awareness of our fears, our bringing our unconscious to consciousness, that allows us to do the transformative (Uranus) work of catalyzing love which clears fear. This sounds trite but it truly is crucial, bring the energies to the heart, expand the heart, it has thousands of times the energy field of the mind. Love is the most powerful force in the universe, it is the Mystic's Vision (Gedullah or Chesed in Kabbalah), and it is Einstein's GUT (Grand Unified Theory). The fact that physics and metaphysics begin to dovetail is the smallest surprise of the century.
Now, just in the nick of time, low and behold, Saturn is moving into Libra where it will
demand integrity and where it will square no less than the
powerhouse Pluto. The last time we had Pluto in Capricorn it followed
the Age of Reason and previous to that the Renaissance (Pluto in
Sagittarius) and we had revolutions in France, the US, and the South
Seas. Already I am getting articles from people who are asking the
states to cede who know nothing of astrology. Let us not be
surprised. Let us prepare. Let's use the Uranus in Pisces to become fully conscious, we cannot grow spiritually without total integrity and we cannot become conscious without self-integrity. Healing someone on a day when you're having a "bad" day is something a true Healer would never do, "needing the money," is inexcusable ... this conversation is coming up a lot so, apologies to all of you but I am hearing these conversations from friends and this is an ethical and spiritual response. Integrity doesn't need excuses, it lives cleanly, it doesn't promise healing if you, yourself have broken bones, or a dis-ease, one cannot heal from a place where one is ill. Healer, heal thyself first.

Integrity includes, "how do I act in the world with respect to others?" "How do I treat those less fortunate than myself?"
Let us become responsible not only to ourselves but to the greater
good of all. Let us make conscious choices ... is it wise of me to
indulge when another starves? Is that humane? Is it ethical? Saturn
in Libra will ask us to be ethical. This is an abundant planet, nature
doesn't worry if the Sun will come up, or if it will eat, the Sun will
always come up, the Spring will surely follow Winter; and we will
always move towards the greater good of all. 100 years ago our
forebears didn't enjoy the luxuries most of us now take for granted and
100 years from now our grandchildren will enjoy luxuries we have only
begun to dream into existence.
Let's Dream our highest dreams, birth our imagination into existence,
birth world peace, follow our Soul's Guidance, trust our intuition, our imagination, our creativity. We'll discuss Saturn in Libra in our next article and
